Default X1600Pro vs 7600GS

My friend want to change his VGA with mine (he has a Gigabyte 7600GS DDR2 450/800, and mine is X1600Pro DDR3 550/1000). Should i do it? Is the 7600GS better than X1600Pro in "Oc'ing"?
By the way, plz tell me is GPU 7600GS stronger than GPU X1600Pro?

Well I'd go with the x1600pro, from what I can tell they are similar, cause the X1600xt is suppose to be competing with the 7600gt, so I'd assume the x1600pro goes with the 7600gs. So, from what I can tell the x1600pro is slightly better, but you should ask him to let you compare the two.

Now if it was a 7600gt, I would take it, great card, overclocking dream.

1. GDDR3 > GDDR2.
2. Your current clock speed is better as it is.
3. Video card prices have dropped massively, might as well just upgrade to a newer card.

Sry about my absence (i've just pass my exam)! There is a new information that i had change my Gigabyte X1600Pro DDR3 wiht a Palit 7600GS DDR3 Sonic 450/1000 (It is my young brother's card). So please share some experience to use this Palit card. Is it better than Gigabyte X1600Pro?
The temperature of Palit 7600GS GPU is 46-48 when it is idle, and increase to 50-53 in full-load mode (when i play AOE III). So is it normal or high?
Is there anyone here who used to OC this card with its orginal heat-sink? What is the max core/mem clock? (my Palit card cant be changed heat-sink because it has a warranty stamp on it, and The card had just bought in 04/2007)
Thanks for your concern! ^^

Thats actually not that high of a temp thats decent but that does seem a little on the high side for a midrange card. I can't tell you want to OC i had a BFG 7800GS. Hmmm ussually OCing the card voids the warranty so if u are going to OC get a after market GPU cooler.
