Radeon 2900xt Benchies

I'm sorry if this is already posted but I came across this early benchmark of the 2900XT. Sadly it's at mid resolution... 1280x1024.

Well it shows promise, and if the prices are similar, I might change my mind about 8800gts.

I have my doubts about the dailytech's benchmarks. Yesterday they posted benchmarks of 2900XTX vs 8800GTX, the result was just ridiculous, even the scores of 8800GTX didn't match up with scores from other reviews with similar settings.

Only 16days left for the real thing, until then i refuse to trust anything. lol

Yeah, I was very skeptical about it as well, the results for the 8800gts in the one I posted was off. I still thought it might be nice to see, even if the results were skewed.

yeah i find the results they showed dissapointing for the ati card but i can't believe that ati waited that long to release a card that can't compete against a 8800gtx

Well remember this card is 'suppose' to be in competition with the 8800GTS 640mb, while the X2900XTX is suppose to be for the 8800GTX. So yeah, I guess we'll see in two weeks.

Actually the competitor of the X2900XTX will be the also upcomng 8800 Ultra

So here we are

X2900XTX vs 8800 Ultra
X2900XT vs 8800 GTX
X2900 XL or GT vs 8800 GT

If i remember right the XTX version of 2900 and the ultra of 8800 will be only overclocked versions of the XT and GTX.

am i glad i bought my 8800gtx i hope the ati drivers get a bit better in my opinion the last few months i used my trusthworthy x1900xt the drivers didn't improve much but thats just my opinion not to bash ati

Really? wow, sorry my mistake, my bad. Well yeah I think I might be able to get a 8800gts 640mb or, if a miracle happens, if the 8800GTX gets close enough to my price range that I feel like splurging. Then again we'll see at launch (hopefully not a paper launch).. but after 6 months, you'd think they'd have something that would at least beat the 8800's easily.

The paper launch of 2900 XTX will be on May 2.
The paper launch of 8800 Ultra will be one day after (not very sure about that).

Hopefully on May 14 we will start see the first cards on stores. (Hopefully in Greece too)

No matter what both nvidia and amd new cards will rock. The only not cool thing is that there won't be any dx10 games around to actually see what X2900 and 8800 series can do.

Testing these "beasts" in dx9 games and benchmarks underestimates their power.
