Hey guys,
I finally yesterday ended up getting myself a X1950Pro. It was between that and a 7900GS and in most reviews the X1950 would either be ahead by a good amount, or neck and neck @ low res' and resolutions like 1600x1200 the X1950Pro would shine much more. I coudln't hack the X550 dont' know.. it just couldn't cut it for some games that I have, and that's not many. Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas just would run like a dog, although CNC3 @ 1280x1024 with average medium settings ran ok. I was after a Low end X2900 not the XT but not the 2600's either, and that is just too far away.. with ATI taking their time, and I couldn't justify spending twice the amount on a 8800GTS-320MB in comparison to the X1950Pro. I also thought about the fact that my 19'' is only 1280x1024 max res which made me realise a 8800GTS wasn't for my current need. All in all, very nice card, quite large but also ultra quiet, couldn't hear it not one bit and with my new comp the Core2 E6600's stock fan is quite low in noise so I'm happy the gfx card left my noise nice and quiet, where it should be.

Playing GTA:SA, CNC3, FEAR all 1280x1024 maxxed is hell fun! compared to the x550.. i just coudln't live on with it since I Had the old system wiht a 9800Pro which was half decent.

Nice nice, I plan to get an 8800gts and I only have a 1280x1024 19". Then again I'm a little fps hungry, cause I've never run a game where there above 30 fps average (well except solitaire and some Korean MMO's but yeah I'm so used to the jerkiness that when playing on my bro's comp i feels like I'm playing a movie... I want to have that feeling no matter what :P
*Thread hijack over* Sorry bout that, good choice, if I wasn't going for the 8800 gts I've have picked a x1950 pro as well. |
