which would i be better off getting a radeon 3870 x2 or a geforce 9800 gtx 512mb..ive got an intel quadcore 6600 and 2 gig of corsair dominator ram..thanx for any advice..price isnt a worry either id just want the best card in your opinion.

yeah if i was you i'd go for 9800 GX2 or radeon 3870x2
ps i hope you have a psu that has enough horsepower to give the 9800gx2 juice

i also want 4 gig of corsair ram so does that mean i need to install vista 64 bit version and is there any downsides with that.im only going to use the pc for gaming and surfin the net

if you have more then 3gigabytes of ram then a 64 bit os is advertised.but vista and gaming is in my eyes not a good choice

i wont be able to upgrade my pc for a good 3 to 4 years once i get this pc so im looking a good few years infront and want to be able to play the latest games during that time..wont vista and direct x10 be the norm in a few years..thanks for your help and sharing your knowledge with me..as a 25 year veteran of console gaming im looking forward to stepping into the world of pc gaming.

try vista and try playing your games on it if they run okay then stay with vista .what soundcard do you have ?.ps i'm happy to help you out
