ATI 2600XT issue, need advice for new card.

to be honest AMD 5000+ overheats with it's own stock cooling (65nm ones!)

i am using big typhoon to cool it down. 1.2k rpm at 60c under load.

it's really hot.

BTW my bro got an intel 8200 (2.66 Ghz dual core 45nm) with his "really tiny" stock cooler the max temp i can squeeze is 55 c! i really regret that i get an AMD chip imo. they should change their color to red hot color :P .

and my ATI 2600 XT card can go up to 100 c when i play crysis but my current 8800GT with zalman fan (10% OC) won't even reach 60 c while playing crysis.

well themoonkin i have a q9450 and when i saw the standart cpu cooler i was thinking is this it but under my waterblock and overclocked to 3.2 giga it gets 62 c stressed.quadcore run hotter then dual cores i think.if i was you i'd try to pump some 200mhz extra from your cpu 60 c is not alarming hot

I'll agree with Weasel, just take it slow, a little more power under the hood is always nice.

and i need another advice, what moded nvidia driver is recommended?

if i was you i wouldn't use a modded driver just plain and simple original

one big news, the latest catalyst 8.7 fixes the problem i noted on the 1st post. wow... that's a long wait for a fix. ( i already got a new card from the green side :P )

I'm just about to buy a ATI Radeon 4850 or nVIDIA 9600GT and then something happened to my cell phone and it's broken...so I had to buy a cell phone instead...darn!
