ATI 2600XT issue, need advice for new card.

I just got my new computer 2 months back with AMD X2 5000+ and ATI 2600XT. This computer is mainly for normal games, h3ntai games, p0rn, anime and WOW. I am using windows XP SP2 btw.

I am troubled with some ATI driver issue here and almost lost confidence with my ATI 2600XT card. new driver fix issue but cause other problems espically for the latest illusion soft's 3D h3ntai games. Also runs horribly slow on my crysis.

Note: i tested the above games with the same machine but with an old ATI x600 card and they just works great.

I would like to ask for advice the is the latest 8800GT and ATI 3000 series card "stable" for games above? anyone got the hardware and willing to do a test?

Well, if it's an ATI driver problem, I sadly can't help, but it seems that no where does it say that any other model of card either Nvidia or ATI have a problem with it. (No sosure about the 3000 series but, what can you do).

Waranakin might be able to help, but I don't now how he'd test for it. I guess we will see.

What driver are you currently using ?
The GeForce 8800 GT is better than any HD38XX card out there.

well, my concern is the compatibilities and quality, coz it is useless that i got 90fps but crappy 3D

I get 2600XT at that time because that i heard it support UVD, F@H and all kinds of funky stuff but at the end it turns out to be crap :P (UVD only for power dvd and f@H is not for gaming)

I am currently using the official 7.10 with some ATI tray tools tweaks. (that really boost up my BF 2142 performance in titan combat from 10 fps to 30< fps) 7.11 and 7.12 do worst for the games i am playing and did not help much on others.

and by the way, 2600XT with 7.10 driver crap out EVE online's GUI (missing slide bars in option menu, and some icon transparency issue). not yet try out 7.11 or 12 for eve online tho as my subscription expired :P

changed my card to 8800GT and everything is great. guess i am turning to the green side from now on. thanks to WarAnakin for the advice.

and who cares about DX 10.1 anyway. :P

the 8800gt is a damn good card, and to be honest with you, 10.1 isn't a necessity right now, so it's moot point. :P, have fun with that roarin' machine.
