Guys I have a problem here...this kinda embarrassing
 I just bought a notebook Compaq Presario V3805 preinstalled with Vista Home Basic and I asked the seller whether I can reduce the price by using dos or linux as the default os but they said that they can't (they don't have that policy here in my country) What the heck!!! I'm wasting my money for something I didn't want! But I bought it anyway and I was planning to wipe the hdd clean and install it with Windows XP but the problem is WinXP installer couldn't detect the hdd ( it told me to check the hdd connection or to turning of hdd management service from the manufacturer) but if I insert a ubuntu cd and running it from cd it has no problem at all. It's been three hours now and I did some googling with no result...aaarghhh  it made me frustated, anyone can help me? Any help would be greatly apreciated. That's an interesting issue, what hard drive is it? and has it already been formatted?

Yes it has already been formated. I couldn't get the exact model of the drive 1337GamingNinja

Problem solved! Using WinXP installer that support SATA drive and it works! Thanks for the reply guys!
Now the tasks is to look for drivers for WinXP yay!

have fun searching drivers dtx and fun installing xp wich is still the best microsoft os lol i had to say it
