Widkidone's PC Specs
VERSION:: DNA-ATi 4.6.6.8-32x - New rebuild
* Based on the CATALYST 6.8 Chuck Patch release
- mixed with the CATALYST 5.11 control panel (to keep the Truform slider)
[[Added / Removed / Updated ]]
* Added CrossFire Installation Option
* Added DNA-ATi High Quality Anisotropic Filtering Changer v1.0
* Added DNA-ATi Geometry Instancing Changer v1.3
* Added DNA-ATi CatalystAI Changer v1.0
* Control Panel build back into the driver (not a separate install )
* New style Control Panel will be used now
* Added X1400 mobility support
* Added Modular tweak system (per card chip tweaking and bug fixing)
* Fast Writes disabled for all cards by default
* Updated resolution table for all cards
* Updated the DNA-ATi installer
* Re added the WDM drivers
* Updated Read Me Q&A Section
[[ Tweak Info]]
* Based on the 6.8 chuck patch so oblivion HDR + AA should be possible
* Catalyst AI Enabled for all cards by default
* Updated Tilling tweaks for all cards
* Redone D3D performance tweaks for all cards (modular tweak system)

* 7200 / 7500 / 8500/ 9000 / 9100 / 9200 / 9250 install will use
- the CAT 6.5 ati2mtag.sys because of installation issues with older cards
* Control panel not installing (x1900 X1K series)

Anyone tried these DNA drivers already?
If so, please post reply on performance, stability and IQ preferably compared to AMD 7.1 and other modded 7.1 series. Hope to hear from you out there as I am wondering whether to use these on top of the NGO's I now use as they proof best stable also providing the best performance for me till this point. Any user doing the DNA's right now? Let us know accordingly. Much appreciated.

EDIT: Overlooked the entry date of these drivers 20.08. ....... 2006... so this might not be a appropriate question to ask, or is it still?

But you should wait KillerSneak started working on dna 5.0.7.1 aka catalyst 7.1

Checked on their performance. Although the differences are not that huge, DNA didn't score in comparison with the others mentioned. Looking forward to DNA 5.0.7.1 though. Lets see what they come up with regarding performance and stability. Thanks for your post Tefra. Much appreciated.

Hey GIB,

If I'm not mistaken these were KillerSneak's/DNA's last set he did before going on a hiatus. And while he's put out some very good drivers before these, I would stay clear of this particular set. These seemed to be rushed out at the time. Performance, IQ and especially stability were not very good at all!

Like T said wait for the next set of DNA's before trying them.

the next set will bring some nice new features with them we were at Beta 4 of the 5.0.7.1 but i'm remaking the whole driver as i was thinking allot about how to do the drivers today and decided to restart the whole project from scratch

Always good to have some choices! And as I said before, you put out some very good drivers in the past. Looking forward to trying these.


Are you going to to still base your set off the 7.1's? And if you're restarting these, what kind of time frame are we looking at?
